In Kyrgyzstan, a transition to a digital system for accounting breeding livestock is being implemented. This became known during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Agricultural Policy, Water Resources, and Ecology, where Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Janibek Kerimaliev spoke.

According to Kerimaliev, previously breeding cards were issued in paper form, but now there are plans to replace them with an electronic format.

“Farms will be able to submit applications online. Based on these applications, the issue of granting the status of breeding farms will be decided,” he emphasized.

During the discussion, Deputy Nilufer Alimjanova pointed out the constant rise in meat prices.

“The policy you are implementing directly affects the prices of meat products and the provision of the population,” she noted.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized the need to shift from quantitative indicators to qualitative ones.

“The degradation of pastures is increasing every year. Creating more breeding farms will not only reduce the overall livestock population but also improve the quality of the animals. Measures of state support are provided for such farms, including loans at 3% per annum for the breeding of cattle,” added Kerimaliev.

He also announced the launch of a pilot project in the Chui region, which offers preferential loans at 3% for fattening enterprises aimed at controlling the rise in meat prices.

“Social meat pavilions are being created, and measures are being taken to stabilize prices. Price dumping on meat supplies, including imports, is being conducted, and regular raids at markets and fairs are organized on weekends,” the Deputy Minister added.
