Kazakhstan offered Kyrgyzstan access to major retail chains in China

Entering the Chinese market opens new prospects for Kyrgyzstan's economy

The presentation of the acceleration program by the National Association of Cooperatives and other forms of economic community of Kazakhstan (NACOFEC) took place at the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan.

As reported by the Chamber, the organization, which actively develops export corridors in Kazakhstan, presented its services in Bishkek for the first time, offering Kyrgyz entrepreneurs direct access to one of the largest retail chains in China — China Co-op.

The event was attended by representatives of the Chamber, the Center for Development and Promotion of Exports "Kyrgyz Export" under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, as well as representatives of agribusiness and export-oriented entrepreneurs.

An important conclusion was voiced at the meeting — the launch in Kyrgyzstan of mechanisms that are already successfully operating within the framework of the strategic partnership between NACOFEC and the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC). This will allow Kyrgyz producers of organic products to occupy shelf space in a network covering 341,000 retail outlets across China.

Avazbek Kerimbaev, Vice President of the Chamber, noted that entering the Chinese market provides new opportunities for the country's economy.

"The Chinese market attracts global powers, and Kyrgyzstan has a chance to establish its position there. Our Kazakh colleagues, with significant experience in exporting to China, are ready to share their knowledge and help in creating laboratories in Kyrgyzstan. Establishing supplies to China will be a powerful stimulus for the growth of our country's economy," he added.

Kazybek Shaikh, President of NACOFEC, emphasized the importance of regional integration.

"We brought proven technologies for export to Kyrgyzstan. Kazakhstan's experience shows that uniting small and medium producers into sustainable export chains is the only way to succeed in such a vast market as China. Kyrgyzstan's products stand out for their eco-friendliness, and our task is to provide them with a 'green corridor', from certification to the shelves in China Co-op. This is the first, but confident step towards creating a unified organic brand for Central Asia," he noted.

Participants of the event believe that utilizing Kazakhstan's developments will help Kyrgyz entrepreneurs shorten the path to entering the Chinese market and avoid common mistakes at the export stage.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed, aimed at promoting Kyrgyz producers in international markets and developing cooperative, production, marketing, and financial infrastructure in the country.
