In the city of Mersin, located in Turkey, a meeting took place between Chyngyz Esengul uulu, who represents the Kyrgyz Republic in Turkey, and Hakan Sefa Çakır, the chairman of the board of directors of the local chamber of commerce and industry.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan reported that the main topic of discussion was ways to deepen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on agriculture and food trade.
In addition to the official meeting, a working session was held with participants representing companies involved in the import and export of dry products. During the discussions, special attention was paid to beans — an important product in the agricultural exports of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. The Turkish side emphasized that factors such as bean quality, grain size, and fluctuations in world prices significantly affect trade volumes.
There was also a noted need to establish direct business connections between Kyrgyz producers and Turkish importers, which could help improve product quality and production efficiency. Cooperation with the Union of Seed Producers of Turkey was also mentioned as a way to enhance the quality of seed material.
As part of his trip to Mersin, Chyngyz Esengul uulu visited several companies, including Saysan Dış Ticaret Ltd. Şti., Dervişoğlu Bakliyat A.Ş., and Tat Bakliyat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. At meetings with their management, key areas for further cooperation were discussed, including:
- increasing the volumes of bean exports from Kyrgyzstan to Turkey;
- establishing sustainable trade relations in agricultural products;
- attracting investments to the Kyrgyz Republic to stimulate growth in production capacity and improve the quality of export products.
