According to the SANA agency, which cites an official source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the information regarding the intention to transfer Uyghur fighters to China has no basis.
Earlier, AFP reported that Damascus was allegedly preparing for the deportation of Uyghur fighters, and this issue might have been discussed during the first visit of Syrian Foreign Minister Eisaad Hasan al-Sheibani to China. One anonymous informant mentioned plans to transfer "400 Uyghur fighters in the near future."
However, on Monday, SANA officially denied these statements, citing a source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and emphasizing that the information from AFP is not true.
