In the Russian city of Murom, a 21-year-old citizen of Kyrgyzstan has come under suspicion for involvement in a telephone fraud scheme that resulted in significant financial losses. This was confirmed by the city prosecutor's office, which reported that an indictment had been drawn up against the young man.

The investigation revealed that the young Kyrgyzstani, facing a difficult financial situation, had traveled to the Moscow region in search of work but soon conspired with unidentified individuals to deceive citizens over the internet.

In May 2025, his accomplice contacted a 44-year-old woman from Vladimir and an 81-year-old pensioner from Murom. The caller informed them about allegedly hacked personal accounts on the "Gosuslugi" portal and that their money could be used to finance terrorist activities. To "protect" their savings, the women were convinced to hand over money to a courier, hiding it in their belongings for camouflage.

As a result, they transferred 180,000 and 500,000 rubles through taxi drivers who were unaware of the contents of the packages. Despite the fact that the accused managed to pass part of the stolen funds to his accomplice, he was detained by law enforcement during the transfer of the second batch.

The criminal case is currently being sent to the Murom City Court for further consideration. The young man faces imprisonment with a possible fine. The cases of other participants in the criminal scheme have been separated into a separate proceeding.
