From November 19 to 20, 2025, an official visit by Wang Yi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China and member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, is taking place in Kyrgyzstan at the invitation of his Kyrgyz counterpart Jeenbek Kulubaev.
During the visit, the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue at the level of foreign ministers of both countries was held, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
The negotiations covered a wide range of issues related to Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation, with an emphasis on the significant development of interaction between the two states in recent years. New tasks and long-term plans were defined. This year, three bilateral meetings between the leaders of the two countries have already taken place.
The talks focused on trade and economic cooperation, the implementation of joint projects in areas such as agriculture, energy, and transport, as well as optimizing the work of border checkpoints. The ministers emphasized the importance of promoting the construction of the "China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan" railway.
The parties also discussed cooperation within the framework of the UN, the "Belt and Road" initiative, and the "Central Asia – China" format. The ministers expressed their readiness for active cooperation during the Kyrgyz Republic's chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2025-2026.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, a Joint Statement was signed following the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the foreign ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China, as well as a Cooperation Program between the ministries of foreign affairs for 2026-2027.
