In 34 countries and 89 cities around the world, polling stations have been opened for citizens of Kyrgyzstan. This was announced by the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Tynchtyk Shainazarov during a press conference for international observers.
According to Shainazarov, to ensure the voting rights of Kyrgyz citizens living abroad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiated the opening of 100 polling stations overseas.
“Considering the significant number of our compatriots living abroad, it is important that their voices are heard. In Russia, in particular, 40 polling stations have been organized in 31 cities, including 15 new ones,” he added.
There are also 8 polling stations operating in Turkey, 7 in Kazakhstan, 6 in the USA, 4 in Korea, and 3 in Italy. In Germany, China, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, there are 2 polling stations each. In the remaining 24 countries, there is one polling station functioning, Shainazarov emphasized.
