No violations affecting the course of the elections were found - OIC delegation
At a press conference held in Bishkek, Imran Sakhidov, the Director for Asia of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), reported on the results of his delegation's observation of the elections in Kyrgyzstan. He noted that the observations were conducted in full accordance with international standards and norms.
Sakhidov emphasized that the delegation strictly adhered to the Declaration of Principles for International Election Observation and the Code of Conduct for Observers. On election day, November 30, OIC representatives monitored the process in Bishkek and its surroundings, visiting 18 polling stations in five districts. Observers were present at the opening of the stations at 8 AM, monitored the voting process, as well as the opening of ballot boxes and counting of votes alongside other international missions.
As a result of their inspection of the polling stations, the delegation noted that the elections were conducted in an organized and safe manner, with a reasonable presence of law enforcement agencies ensuring free access for voters to the stations. All polling stations opened on time, and members of the electoral commissions actively interacted with the observers.
Imran Sakhidov also added that all necessary materials were available at each polling station, such as voter lists, ballots, and booths for secret voting, which contributed to the orderly conduct of the process. Voter turnout at the observed stations varied from low to moderate, while the secrecy of the ballot was maintained, and no attempts to pressure voters by political structures were recorded.
Additionally, Sakhidov noted that the active presence of international observers allowed for the exchange of opinions and the formation of a more complete understanding of the situation.
He also assured that the OIC would continue to support efforts to strengthen stable, inclusive, and democratic governance, and would closely monitor the election results and post-election processes in the country.
