At a briefing in Bishkek, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Piao Yangfan, spoke about the observation mission that worked during the early elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to her, the mission members observed the elections in cities such as Bishkek, Kochkor, Balakchy, and Cholpon-Ata. On election day, they visited 110 polling stations, choosing their routes independently, and did not encounter any obstacles in their work.

Piao Yangfan also noted that the work of the electoral commissions was qualified, transparent, and independent. The necessary documentation, reference materials, observer registration logs, methodological guidelines, and duty schedules were present at the polling stations. There was also a noticeable high activity of women and youth, and conditions for voters with disabilities were provided.
“Observers noted a high level of digitalization and technological support at the polling stations. The voting process was calm and organized, with all established procedures being followed. Mission members were present at the closing of the polling stations. No complaints or remarks were received regarding the observers on election day,” she added.
As a result of the monitoring, Piao Yangfan reported that the early elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh met the requirements of both national legislation and international obligations. The mission did not record any violations of electoral legislation.
