On the Tyup–Kegen highway, at the 68th kilometer, a passenger bus traveling from Kazakhstan encountered difficulties due to heavy snowfall, as reported by a Turmush correspondent.

Currently, workers from the road maintenance enterprise No. 4 in the Tyup district are making efforts to free the bus from the snowdrift.

According to information provided by the head of the enterprise, Rysbek Ismailov, the bus set off from Almaty on December 10, with five passengers on board.

“As a result of the continuous snowfall the day before, 70-80 cm of snow fell in this area, leading to snowdrifts up to 1.5 meters high. The roads Toktoyan – Mikhailovka – Sary-Tologoy – Toguz-Bulak were completely closed, and snowdrifts also formed on the Tyup–Kegen–Karkyra highway. Our equipment was unable to clear all sections immediately, so we called in additional vehicles,” Ismailov said.

Moreover, last night, a snowdrift formed again on the Tyup–Kegen highway, causing the bus to go off course and get stuck. Five passengers managed to escape and transfer to passing cars.

At present, thanks to the involvement of additional equipment, the condition of the roads has significantly improved. By December 11, the Tyup–Kegen, Sary-Tologoy–Toktoyan–Mikhailovka, and Tyup–Kegen–Karkyra roads were fully open for traffic.

Efforts to free the stranded bus are ongoing, and road clearing is also being carried out on the Ming-Bulak – Taldy-Suu road,” added R. Ismailov.
