To provide assistance, a response team was organized, led by Colonel Mirlan Karabaev, head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Issyk-Kul region. Together with civil defense forces, all vehicles were successfully extracted from the snowdrifts. The condition of the people in the vehicles is stable.
At the same time, the relevant services were clearing the road using engineering equipment.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations had previously warned of a sharp deterioration in weather, expecting heavy precipitation from December 8 to 10. In some mountainous areas, avalanches and snowdrifts were forecasted.
