A bus that got stuck in a snow trap on the Tyup-Kegen highway in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan has successfully returned to Almaty (Kazakhstan).

Turmush previously reported that on December 10, around 4:00 PM, a passenger bus traveling from Almaty got caught in a snow blockade at the 68th kilometer of the Tyup-Kegen road.

On December 11, workers from the Tyup district road maintenance department used special equipment to help free the bus from the snowdrift, after which it continued its journey back to Almaty.

According to local services, five passengers who were on the bus were timely delivered to the village of Tyup and the city of Karakol with the help of cars.

The bus driver noted the quick response of the rescue services. “Yesterday around 4:00 PM our bus stopped on the road due to heavy snowfall. Around 6:00 PM, representatives of the local administration, emergency services, and border guards arrived — they provided assistance and took care of the passengers. Today, the road service freed the bus for further movement. I am grateful for the support. Now I am heading back to Kazakhstan,” the driver shared.
