Residents of the settlements neighboring the Kara-Baltin Distillery and China Petrol Company express their dissatisfaction with the unpleasant odors that disturb them. This was reported at the IV People's Kurultai on December 25 by a delegate from the Jayil District of the Chui Region, Mirlan Jusupbekov.
“We support development, but it should not come at the expense of the health of the population,” he noted.
Jusupbekov also pointed out that in the villages of Petropavlovka, Novonikolaevka, and Suusamyr, residents continue to use old and worn-out pipes.
Additionally, he addressed the issue of the lack of irrigation water in the lower part of the Chui Canal, caused by the siltation of reservoirs, which leads to a loss of up to 40% of water.
“The reservoirs built during the Soviet period are filled with silt by 50%. 30-40% of the water that flows out of the canal simply goes into the ground and disappears. A farmer is not afraid of hard work, but without water, he cannot cope,” emphasized Jusupbekov.
The issue of constructing a reservoir in the Taldy-Bulak valley has been raised before. “We are talking about this again so that the problem is not forgotten,” he added.
