- In 2026, the opening of new milling enterprises is planned, as announced by the president of the Millers Association, Rustam Junushov, during a radio broadcast.

According to him, enterprises in the country are actively increasing their storage capacities for both grain and finished products, which contributes to food security.

Each milling enterprise has its own grain storage facilities, and their volumes are constantly growing. “Previously, we stored 1000 tons, but now we are increasing these volumes to 5000 and even 10000 tons at some plants,” Junushov shared.

He also emphasized that minimum storage volumes are established in agreements with the government. “Each small enterprise is required to store between 700 and 1000 tons of raw materials and finished products, while for large companies, this minimum is 3000 tons. These obligations are documented and have been adhered to for four years,” he explained.

In his opinion, compliance with these norms has helped avoid sharp price fluctuations and crises in recent years. “In the last 3-4 years, we have not faced crisis price spikes, and this is due to the strict adherence to agreements,” Junushov noted.

He added that the government provides support to the industry in the form of benefits, in exchange for which it expects to ensure food security. “The government helps us, provides benefits, and we, in turn, meet the requirements for ensuring food security. I can confidently say that we are managing this task,” he concluded.

Furthermore, Junushov noted that new opportunities for development and modernization have emerged in the industry. “We are modernizing existing plants and building new ones. In 2026, we plan to launch another 2-3 new enterprises. Currently, the situation in our industry is stable,” added the president of the Millers Association.
