Gulmira Zholdosheva, a 51-year-old resident of the village of Bakai-Ata in the Bakai-Ata district of the Talas region, actively supports women and holds the position of a deputy in the local kenesh.

She was born in the Manas district, in the village of Chon-Kapka (Pushkin), in a family of nine children. Her parents worked as shepherds and in a collective farm.

Gulmira married the son of a famous mullah in Bakai-Ata, and she and her husband Sultan have three married daughters and a son who is a student, as well as nine grandchildren.

In April 2021, she was elected as a deputy of the Bakai-Ata ayil kenesh. The impetus for her public activity was a request from her daughter's class teacher, Aina, who suggested that Gulmira help in the class and establish communication with the parents. This became the starting point for her involvement in public affairs. Soon, she managed to gather housewives and create the "Timur Team," which carried out work for the community, including fieldwork.

When the elections took place, the elders and women of the village came to her with a proposal: "Work for us." Thanks to their support, Gulmira was elected, receiving the highest number of votes. Since then, she has been implementing various social initiatives aimed at supporting women. Her husband, as she mentioned, supports her activities, emphasizing that she can benefit society.

In addition, Gulmira actively participates in community work beyond her district.

One of the most significant events for her was the Batken events, when she organized and delivered humanitarian aid from the Bakai-Ata district. Hearing about the plight through social media, she appealed to people for help and then gathered 52 tons of humanitarian aid, which she personally distributed to those affected.

Her home in the village is considered exemplary and beautiful; it has been filmed for television more than once.

"Although our house is old, over 80 types of flowers grow in front of it, and there are even more indoor plants. I enjoy growing them, but I don't sell them; I share seeds with those who come asking. My husband says, 'Your soul is as beautiful as the flowers,'" Gulmira shares.
