In a conversation with the Turmush correspondent, Ormon-Khan Esten Toytoev, a deputy of the village council, spoke about Tolkunai's life. She was born on May 17, 2003, in the village of Kochkor in the Kochkor district. Her father, Muratbek, works as a guard, while her mother, Baktygul, takes care of the household. The family has four children: two daughters and two sons, with Tolkunai being the youngest. The other children are healthy. The girl was born without arms; one is missing from the shoulder, and the other from the wrist. At 19, she got married but later divorced and now raises her son.
Tolkunai reached out to the deputy, sharing her situation. Hearing her story, the deputies were deeply moved. "We opened a charitable account in our foundation, and with the help of sponsors, we were able to raise funds to purchase a plot of land for her. Now we are looking for sponsors to build a house. We will be flying to Turkey soon for the installation of arm prosthetics," Esten Toytoev reported.
Tolkunai lives for her son. "I have a purpose in life—my son. I spend all my free time with him, and my parents help us. My son is two and a half years old; he is smart and kind. When I cry, he runs up to me and says, 'Mom, don't cry,' wiping my tears. I pray that he becomes a good person and helps others. Despite the limitations that his father and I have, fate has blessed us with a healthy son. He doesn't know about his father, and I worry about how he will perceive that," she shares.
Tolkunai wants to inspire people who find themselves in difficult situations. "Despite the absence of arms, I lead a normal life. I enjoy cooking for my son, and in my childhood, I dreamed of becoming a human rights defender. Now I want to help people who have lost hope and show that life is beautiful," she says.
In the future, after rebuilding her life, she plans to create an organization that advocates for kindness and helping others. "I am very grateful to all the kind people who support me," Tolkunai emphasized.
