According to local resident Batyrkan Kutmanaliev, there is an area in this valley called Zhaltirak-Tash, stretching along the Kandy-Bai River. "This area got its name because from a distance its surface sparkles like a mirror reflection of sunlight, giving it a special atmosphere. The most valuable treasures here are the petroglyphs, among which stands out the image of a two-meter camel, inside which is depicted a deer ('bugu'), as well as marals, bears, horsemen, weaponry, and the figure of a dancing creature with a tail. These ancient artifacts are located at an altitude of 2500 meters and are believed to date back to the Copper Age," he added.
Kutmanaliev also noted that protecting the historical monuments located in the mountains is extremely challenging. "Some tourists leave their names on the stones, which leads to the gradual destruction of these unique places. Since these petroglyphs can be dated to the 7th century, travelers from Europe, Russia, and other countries come here to take photographs. Unfortunately, seeing various inscriptions on the monuments, they leave this place feeling disappointed," he emphasizes.
