
As of now, JSC "Chakan HPP" has completed 80% of all work on the construction of the Orto-Tokoy HPP. According to the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, the work is being carried out according to the previously approved schedule.
To date, the following key works have been completed:
- The construction of the 950-meter long diversion tunnel has been fully completed;
- Concrete work on the reinforced concrete lining of the water supply tunnel is ongoing;
- Preparation and strengthening of the soil, as well as the construction of the chamber walls at the branching node, have been completed;
- Preparation for the installation of the tunnel interchange with three exits is underway, where metal structures with lengths of 93.6 meters and 74.4 meters have already been installed and welded.
Significant progress has also been made in the hydropower plant building:
- Construction of the HPP is 90% complete;
- Reinforcement and concreting of columns for the lifting mechanisms of the spillway gates in the lower reach have been fully completed;
- The roof frame installation has been completed, and work on laying the roofing material is currently underway;
- Installation of hydro turbines No. 1, 2, and 3, as well as disk gates, has been completed.
It is important to note that the installed capacity of the Orto-Tokoy HPP is 21 MW. The completion of all construction works is expected in the first half of 2026.
