After modernization, the capacity of the unit increased from 45 MW to 54 MW, representing a gain of 9 MW. This improvement contributes to the overall production volume of the Uch-Kurgan HPP and positively impacts the energy security of the country. The modernization work was carried out with the participation of the Chinese company CNEEC as the general contractor.
In addition, measures to enhance the reliability and safety of the installation continue at the Uch-Kurgan HPP:
- Unit No. 3 – defectoscopy of the stator package and nine rods – 11.0% completed;
- Protection relay No. 5 and No. 6 – installation of working sluice gates for the lower pool – 14.5% completed;
- Station oil management – anti-corrosion work – 54.1% completed;
- Station lighting system – installation of new equipment and cable laying – 7.5% completed.
