The Head of the Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture met with the Permanent Representative of the IMF in Kyrgyzstan

On January 19, Bakyt Torobaev held a meeting with Farid Talyshly, who is the permanent representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers shared information about this event.

The agenda included issues related to cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the IMF.

During the discussion, it was noted that the structural reforms carried out in recent years have received positive assessments from international rating agencies. These reforms are aimed at stabilizing business activity, supporting key sectors of the economy, modernizing infrastructure, and improving the investment climate.

Since its establishment in Kyrgyzstan, the IMF has implemented 12 programs over more than 30 years, which have significantly impacted economic support, poverty reduction, and fostering sustainable, inclusive economic growth.

It was also emphasized that, on average, over the past three years, the country's economy has shown a growth rate of 9%. This high economic activity is attributed to effective government measures aimed at modernizing the economy, improving the investment environment and competitiveness, as well as implementing reforms in public administration.
