
During the conversation, it was emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is focused on further developing its partnership with UNESCO, especially in the field of cultural and historical heritage preservation. To actively participate in the organization's work, Kyrgyzstan proposed its candidacy and was elected to the UNESCO Executive Board for the term from 2025 to 2029.
It was also noted that Kyrgyzstan has achieved significant progress in sustainable development, made possible by political stability and economic growth. This allows the country to set ambitious goals, such as adapting to climate change, preserving ecosystems, and developing a creative economy.
The Director-General of UNESCO, Khaled Al-Anani, noted the significance of Kyrgyzstan's contribution to the organization's activities, especially in the area of cultural initiatives. In this regard, he confirmed the readiness to consider the possibility of providing UNESCO's patronage for two key events in Kyrgyzstan: the VI World Nomad Games and the International Issyk-Kul Forum named after Chinghiz Aitmatov.
At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed hope for further development of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and UNESCO, emphasizing the implementation of new joint projects.
