The Ministry of Culture held a symposium on the preservation of the archaeological site of Ak-Beshim

On December 17, the Ministry of Culture held a scientific symposium dedicated to the archaeological site of Ak-Beshim (Suyab), which is located in the Chui region and included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, the event was attended by scholars, archaeologists, representatives of government institutions, and experts in the field of tourism.

Japanese archaeologists Kazuya Yamauchi and Shumpei Iwai presented the results of their excavations conducted over the past ten years. In addition, Valery Kolchenko, representing the National Academy of Sciences, presented the concept of museification of the Ak-Beshim site as part of the state program "Kөönө tarikh syrlary".

Among the topics discussed were issues of sustainable tourism development, effective use of world heritage sites, preservation of cultural monuments, and improvement of infrastructure for tourists.
