The Minister of Culture spoke at the UN General Assembly meeting on issues of the information society

On December 16, the Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev, together with the Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to the UN Aida Kasymalieva, participated in a meeting of the UN General Assembly.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, a high-level meeting took place during the event, dedicated to analyzing the results of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), where the minister delivered a report.

In his speech, Mambetaliev shared Kyrgyzstan's practical experience in the field of digital transformation, emphasizing that digitalization is seen as a key tool for achieving sustainable development, stimulating economic growth, and improving the quality of life for citizens.

In particular, he highlighted the adoption of the Digital Code, the development of electronic government services, the protection of citizens' digital rights, and the creation of a regulatory framework for the safe and ethical use of artificial intelligence.

The minister also reported that almost the entire territory of the country is covered by 3G and 4G networks and spoke about the implementation of the Digital CASA project, as well as the inter-agency interaction system "Tündük," through which billions of electronic transactions were conducted in 2025.
