The system for transferring students in Kyrgyzstan will be made electronic

Soon, a large-scale digital reform in the field of school education will begin in Kyrgyzstan. The country's Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev, has instructed to develop an electronic mechanism for transferring students between educational institutions as soon as possible. The main objective of this innovation is to eliminate opaque practices and simplify the process for parents.

During a government meeting, Kasymaliev noted significant shortcomings in the existing system. There are 2,170 state schools in the country, educating more than 1.5 million children. However, the process of transferring between schools is still carried out manually, which, according to the Prime Minister, creates opportunities for corruption and leads to overcrowding in some educational institutions while there are free places in others.

The reform will be implemented similarly to the successful electronic enrollment system for first grades. The new platform will show available places in classrooms in real time, completely excluding the intervention of school administration in the enrollment process. "The system should independently display free places and minimize the human factor. This will make the process more transparent for all parents," the Cabinet's statement emphasizes.

The necessity of implementing this measure is confirmed by the critical shortage of places in the capital. On January 22, the Deputy Minister of Construction, Talantbek Imanakun uulu, presented inventory data to the Jogorku Kenesh. In 120 schools in Bishkek, designed for 104,000 places, more than 261,000 children are actually studying.

The most challenging situation is observed in the Lenin and Pervomaisky districts. In the Lenin district, schools are overcrowded by almost three times: with a designed capacity of 30,400 places, over 91,000 students are studying there. In the Pervomaisky district, the load also exceeds the design indicators by almost three times. The situation in the Sverdlovsk and Oktyabrsky districts is not much better either. This data was presented during the discussion of a bill on attracting loans for the construction of 14 new schools in Bishkek, which should help partially solve the problem.

Automating the transfer process in the context of a shortage of places will be the only effective way to ensure fair distribution of educational spots and prevent speculation in the area of children's right to education.
