In Osh, the implementation of the project for the construction of a two-level overpass bridge continues, which will connect G. Aitieva and Kokum-Biy streets.

Local authorities report that the length of the new bridge will be 354 meters [previous data indicated a length of 390 meters], and the width will reach 50 meters. The project includes landscaping of the ring road under the bridge, greening, installation of lighting, as well as the creation of gutters, pedestrian crossings, and traffic signs.

There is also a plan to widen Osmonov Street in the section from the roundabout [previously a monument to Barsbek-Kagan was installed there] to Kasymbekov Street (near the building of the city patrol police service in Osh).

Turmush previously reported that on September 10, 2025, representatives of the Osh city hall visited Kasymbekov Street to discuss the relocation of the Barsbek-Kagan monument.

During discussions related to the widening of Osmonov Street and the construction of the overpass bridge connecting Aitieva and Kokum-Biy streets, the issue of relocating the Barsbek-Kagan memorial was raised. Relevant authorities were instructed to develop a project.

After the relocation of the monument from the western side of the city, a two-level overpass bridge will be built on B. Osmonov Street, connecting Gapar Aitieva and Kokum-Biy streets. The preliminary design is already ready.

Turmush reported in October 2024 that the monumental complex "Barsbek Kagan" in Osh may be relocated.

At that time, the capital construction department of the Osh city hall presented a project for the construction of the overpass bridge for public discussion.

The monumental complex "Barsbek Kagan" was opened on the Day of the City of Osh, October 5, 2011. The monument was installed at the roundabout where G. Aitieva and B. Osmonov streets intersect in the Kulatov microdistrict.

For its construction, 11 million soms were allocated from the local budget, and the project was developed and implemented by local sculptor Ravshan Mamatkulov.

The complex was built during the tenure of Mayor Melis Myrzakmatov.

The idea of relocating the "Barsbek Kagan" monument was also raised in July 2017, when Mayor Aitmamet Kadyrbaev discussed this topic at a city council session on July 25.

At that time, the initiative was proposed to reduce traffic congestion in this area of the road. In 2017, 99,000 vehicles were registered in Osh, and 150-170 thousand vehicles passed through the city daily. The bypass road, which runs through Kulatov and Aitieva streets, was considered the only one in the city.

Against the backdrop of this initiative, Turmush conducted a survey among residents. Some respondents believed that the monument should not be relocated, while others suggested improving it. Some supported the mayor's idea of relocation.

Drivers expressed the opinion that relocating the monument is not the right solution. They suggested changing the location of the taxi stand, which led to congestion in that area, pointing to improper parking of passenger taxis as the main cause of traffic jams.
