Turmush reported that on February 19, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, introduced the new mayor of Osh — Janarbek Akayev.
In a comment after the official introduction of the new mayor, Toktorbaev noted the wisdom and hospitality of the residents of Osh. “These are true friends. I served in this position at the request of the president for one year and two months. Together with my team, we made every effort to improve the city. We can be proud of achieving the set goals by 100%. Currently, we are engaged in the construction of four bridges and three roads. Addressing Janarbek Kubanychovich [the new mayor], I emphasize that we are colleagues and have worked together in the Jogorku Kenesh. I will share my ideas with him. I am leaving the position of my own accord,” Toktorbaev noted.
Toktorbaev also expressed gratitude to his colleagues and bid farewell to the team. “Dear colleagues and deputies, I want to thank the people of Osh once again. We always felt the support of the citizens, wherever we went. Janar is an honest and educated person, and now you will work together. I believe that you will maintain the same work pace. The city remains with you. Sonunbek Kalmamotovich [Junusbaev — deputy mayor] has done a tremendous job, especially in the area of municipal territorial management and tree planting. Work on greening is needed in the Ken-Sai residential area, and there are many tasks in Ene-Sai as well. We worked like brothers,” he added.
Toktorbaev also addressed his colleagues with apologies if he had been strict in his work. “If I offended anyone or was harsh, I apologize. I always warned that I could be strict on work matters, but in life, I am a simple person. My doors are always open for you, and I will be glad to see you. I hope that now you have a brother in the city of Manas. When I come to Osh, I will try to meet with you as with family,” he concluded.
