Today, March 5, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, held a meeting with Johan Pelissier, President of Airbus Europe, and Maurice Prendergast, Senior Vice President of BBAM Leasing.

During the event, issues concerning the expansion of the country's fleet and deepening cooperation in civil aviation were discussed.

Japarov noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to establishing effective and mutually beneficial partnerships with Airbus Europe, as evidenced by the new agreement signed during the meeting.

“This is an important step for the development of our civil aviation, increasing the reliability of transportation and ensuring flight safety,” the president emphasized, adding that the aviation sector of the country is in a stage of active development.

In this context, he mentioned the modernization of airports, the expansion of regional routes, and aligning the aviation system with international standards. While previously only four airports operated in Kyrgyzstan, now all 11 are functioning, and the construction of an international airport in Jalal-Abad is ongoing.

Moreover, Kyrgyzstan is close to completing the process of being removed from the European Union's aviation safety blacklist. Japarov reported that the final audit is expected this month.

In this regard, the president urged the leadership of Airbus to consider providing assistance in this direction.

Johan Pelissier, for his part, expressed high appreciation for Kyrgyzstan's achievements in aviation, noting the consistent steps taken to improve safety and modernize the sector.

He also emphasized Airbus's interest in long-term cooperation not only in commercial aviation but also in other areas, including transport and logistics.

“We are pleased to learn that Kyrgyzstan is at the final stage of the EU audit and are ready to provide the necessary support,” Pelissier added.

Maurice Prendergast noted that the new aircraft being acquired by Kyrgyzstan meet all international standards and reported that company specialists will come to train Kyrgyz colleagues on the operational systems and technical aspects of the new aircraft.

At the end of the meeting, all participants confirmed their intention to continue mutually beneficial and productive cooperation.
