Kyrgyzstan will acquire two Airbus A321ceo aircraft for the modernization of the air fleet
Adylbek Kasymaliev, the chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted in his speech that the agreement reached symbolizes the trust and openness of the parties, as well as the focus on long-term cooperation. He added that the introduction of modern aircraft will help elevate Kyrgyzstan's civil aviation to a new level.

"I thank you for the support that has been provided for the implementation of initiatives to modernize our air fleet. The aviation industry has developed fragmentarily due to a lack of systemic support. However, in recent years, significant changes have been observed. The strategic decision of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, to create the State Agency for Civil Aviation under the Cabinet of Ministers has marked the beginning of a new era for aviation," emphasized Kasymaliev.

He also reported that from 2021 to 2025, the number of passengers served at airports on domestic and international flights increased by 52%, and the number of flights rose by 53%. If in 2021 there were 5 airports operating in the country, now all airports are functioning.

"According to the audits conducted by ICAO in 2023-2024, it has been confirmed that Kyrgyzstan's aviation system meets international standards. The effectiveness of aviation security was 85.76%, which is a significant improvement compared to previously recorded results. These achievements create conditions for the exclusion of Kyrgyzstan from the EU Safety List. A final audit from the European Commission is expected in the coming days, which will be an important step towards this goal," he added.

President of Airbus Europe, Johan Pelissie, thanked for the warm welcome and emphasized that a direct dialogue has been established with representatives of Kyrgyzstan's aviation industry for the successful implementation of joint projects. He also expressed readiness to continue cooperation for further development of the aviation sector.

The delivery of the Airbus A321ceo aircraft is scheduled for the end of 2026 and is aimed at supporting the national airline "Asman Airlines," which is a subsidiary of "Airports of Kyrgyzstan." This will improve passenger comfort, enhance flight safety, and expand routes, thereby strengthening the country's position in international aviation.
