At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, President Sadyr Japarov instructed to conduct an audit of syringe purchases, emphasizing the need to support local manufacturers.
Deputy Aigul Karabekova noted that there is only one enterprise in Kyrgyzstan engaged in the production of syringes, but its share in government procurement is extremely small.
The head of state emphasized that this only enterprise is currently selling only a small part of its products in the domestic market. Earlier, an interest-free loan was provided to support this factory, which allowed it to stabilize its operations.
“Minister, please pay attention to the sources of syringe procurement. Why is the product of local manufacturers not being used?” asked Japarov.
He instructed the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, to look into this situation and take personal control of the issue. The president urged all ministers, deputies, and builders to focus on domestic products and gradually reduce dependence on imports.
