As a result of the heavy snowfall that hit Moscow, the airports "Sheremetyevo," "Domodedovo," "Vnukovo," and "Zhukovsky" were forced to make changes to their schedules. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of Russia.

According to the agency, since the beginning of the current day, Moscow airports have serviced 603 flights, including 214 at "Sheremetyevo." During this time, the country's largest airport did not accept flights from 04:10 to 11:00 Moscow time, although departures continued. Restrictions were introduced on the recommendation of the Ministry of Transport and Rosaviation to ensure snow removal and normalize the baggage claim process.

The Ministry of Transport reported that over 1 million cubic meters of snow were removed from the airfields in one day, which is equivalent to the load of about 100,000 KamAZ dump trucks. "Sheremetyevo" noted that baggage delivery was fully completed, and there were no crowds of passengers in the baggage claim area. For some passengers, home delivery of baggage was organized.

After 15:00 Moscow time, the airports began to accept and send flights, and airlines continue to operate according to the updated schedule.
