
According to the IRGC, the arrested individuals are involved in arson attacks on mosques and Islamic educational institutions in the southern province of Hormozgan. They are also charged with destroying state and private property, disturbing public order, creating an atmosphere of fear and panic, as well as attacking military facilities.
Protests in Tehran began in late December, triggered by the collapse of the national currency and a sharp rise in prices. Iranian authorities announced the suppression of the protests on January 21, after which they began confiscating property and closing businesses that supported the mass protests in the country.
