Last week, on Thursday, the Philippine Embassy in Beijing issued a statement warning its citizens in Mongolia about the actions of illegal recruiters. In particular, they emphasized that converting a tourist visa or visa-free entry into a work visa is strictly prohibited. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.
The embassy reminded that the 21-day visa-free regime is intended solely for tourism, and attempts to enter for employment purposes under this program are illegal.
In their warning, they also stressed: “Do not trust intermediaries who promise an easy visa change upon arrival. This is a scam and a violation of the law. You risk being deported and losing your funds.”
Furthermore, the diplomats reminded that Filipinos wishing to work in Mongolia must secure an employment contract and obtain a work visa in the Philippines before traveling.
In conclusion, they added: “If you intend to work, make sure to arrange a contract and work visa in the Philippines before flying to Mongolia. Do not fall for scams. Follow the laws.”
