The blocked accounts included those of environmental activist Mutabar Khushvakhtova (Urikguli), as well as media resources Hook Report, Sarpa Media, and blogger Saodat Abduzakirova. Additionally, the account of the editor-in-chief of Hook Report, Yana Modelova, was also temporarily unavailable. Although it was later restored, it currently does not appear in direct searches.
Darina Solod, the founder of Hook Report, described the incident as a serious blow to the small publication and suggested that the blockage might have been organized. Sarpa Media believes that the closure of the accounts was due to numerous, possibly coordinated complaints, reminiscent of previous attacks initiated by suspicious accounts.
The project against violence, Nemolchi.uz, expressed support for the blocked individuals and called on Meta, as well as international organizations, to provide clear explanations considering issues of freedom of expression and digital security for women. As a precaution, Nemolchi.uz temporarily closed access to the page for new subscribers, while allowing access for the existing audience.
