Avalanche danger declared in the mountainous areas of six regions of Uzbekistan

Considering the predicted precipitation and temperature changes from February 5 to 9, Uzhydromet warns of possible avalanche danger in the mountains of the country.

Regions where avalanche threats are expected:

Kashkadarya region: Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashinsky, and Shahrisabz districts;

Surkhandarya region: Baysun, Kumkurgan, Sariasiy, and Uzun districts;

Samarkand region: Nurabad, Kushrabat, Samarkand, and Urgut districts;

Jizzakh region: Bakhmal and Zamin districts;

Tashkent region: Bostanlyk, Parkent, and Akhangaran districts (Chatkal mountain system);

Namangan region: Pap district.

Authorities urge residents of mountainous areas, tourists, and drivers to exercise necessary caution.

It was previously reported that after a series of warm days, cold and humid air will hit Uzbekistan on Friday, which may lead to precipitation (rain transitioning to snow) and a drop in air temperature.
