Mongolia deported a Ghanaian citizen who overstayed his visa

A citizen of Ghana was expelled from Ulaanbaatar after arriving in the country on a tourist visa but overstaying the allowed duration. This man, who entered Mongolia in 2024 on an e-visa of category K2, violated the rules by remaining in the country illegally. This information was reported by the publication MiddleAsianNews.

As a result of the violation of the law, this citizen was fined and deported with a two-year ban on re-entry to Mongolia.

Although citizens of Ghana can obtain electronic tourist visas for up to 30 days for travel purposes, there has been an increase in cases of violations related to overstaying visas and engaging in activities not aligned with the purpose of their visit in recent years.

In 2025, there were 10 cases of deportation of Ghanaian citizens, most of which occurred in Mongolia due to violations of the conditions of temporary guest visas.

Ghana, officially known as the Republic of Ghana, is located in West Africa and is part of the Commonwealth of Nations. It borders Côte d'Ivoire to the west, Burkina Faso to the north, and Togo to the east, while to the south it is washed by the waters of the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean. The capital of the country is Accra, and the population exceeds 36 million people.
