
“As part of efforts to improve bilateral relations, the Dominican Republic and Mongolia have agreed to visa-free entry for citizens of both countries. This agreement will allow those holding diplomatic, service, and ordinary passports to visit the country without the need for a visa,” reports MiddleAsianNews.
According to diplomatic note DU/TI-051162, issued on December 29, 2025, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic (Mirex) through its embassy in Cuba, Mongolia is also accredited in this country. The signing of the visa-free agreement took place on September 26, 2024, and was officially approved by resolution 94-25, published in Official Bulletin No. 11219 on November 28, 2025, after all necessary legal procedures were completed in accordance with local legislation, the publication reports.
Mirex has requested information on the current progress of the ratification of the agreement by Mongolia to monitor its entry into force. At the same time, the Dominican Republic's embassy in Cuba expressed gratitude to the Mongolian embassy for their joint efforts that contributed to the signing of this bilateral agreement, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic interaction for the development of mobility and international relations.
Diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Dominican Republic were established on May 27, 2010. The capital of the Dominican Republic, located on the eastern side of the Caribbean island of Haiti, is Santo Domingo. The official language of the country is Spanish. With a population of 11.4 million people and an area of 48,670 km², it ranks 85th in the world by population and 132nd by area.
