During a meeting with Ms. Corinne Pereira, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic to Mongolia, Defense Minister Batlout Damba discussed the current state and future of defense cooperation between the two countries. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.
The minister emphasized that French support plays an important role in strengthening the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Mongolia and noted that cooperation in the defense sector is becoming increasingly substantive each year.
He also pointed out a positive aspect—the presence of a permanent French language instructor at the Mongolian National Defense University, which opens new opportunities for Mongolian servicemen in international peacekeeping operations and further training in France.
Batlout Damba expressed hope for continued support, especially in providing opportunities for training Mongolian servicemen at military academies in France and involving qualified French-speaking personnel in UN peacekeeping missions and other international organizations.

At the end of the meeting, the minister wished success to the French ambassador and the military attaché, who also represents Mongolia's interests in China, and expressed confidence in the further development of friendly ties between the two countries.
Diplomatic relations between Mongolia and France were established in 1965. Mongolia perceives France as a "third neighbor," alongside its neighbors—Russia and China—and maintains a long and strong friendship with it, making France an important partner in Europe.
France views Mongolia as a "privileged partner in Asia" and actively supports its democratic development, which began with the peaceful revolution of 1990. Both countries are developing a partnership based on shared principles and interests, including respect for human rights, strengthening multilateralism, promoting sustainable development, and international peace.
Political relations between France and Mongolia are marked by regular high-level meetings.

The historic visit of President Emmanuel Macron in May 2023 marked an important stage in deepening Franco-Mongolian cooperation, highlighting active ties in economic, academic, scientific, cultural, and defense fields.
In turn, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhna visited France on a state visit in October 2023 at the invitation of his French counterpart.
