Alexeev was taken to one of the capital's hospitals, but information about his condition remains confidential. An RT source in law enforcement reports that the general is in critical condition. Telegram channels associated with law enforcement, such as Mash and "Baza," claim that the shooting was aimed at his back. A criminal case has been opened on charges of attempted murder and illegal trafficking of firearms.
Since 2011, Alexeev has held the position of First Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia.
He participated in the Russian military operation in Syria and was awarded the title of Hero of Russia in 2017.
The general has also been awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland IV class and the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
