Clashes between government forces and Kurdish formations occurred in Aleppo, Syria

During the fighting, both sides accused each other of initiating gunfire at checkpoints located in the Kurdish areas of the city.

According to information from various sources, at least three people were killed and 25 were injured as a result of the clashes. The SANA agency reported two civilians killed due to shelling by the Syrian Democratic Forces and eight injured. In response, the SDF claims that one woman was killed and 17 civilians were injured due to shelling by government forces in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiya areas.

The Kurdish forces control the areas where the clashes occurred.

On the evening of the same day, the Syrian Ministry of Defense and the command of the Syrian Democratic Forces announced a ceasefire for their units in Aleppo.

According to an agreement signed in March, Kurdish military and civilian structures, which occupy significant territories in northeastern Syria, are required to integrate into common governance structures subordinate to Damascus by the end of the year. However, due to deep disagreements, the implementation of this agreement is being delayed.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Damascus proposed to the Syrian Democratic Forces to reorganize them into three main divisions and several smaller brigades, provided that part of the command authority is transferred and their region is opened to other units of the Syrian army.
