At Brown University in the USA, an unknown shooter opened fire, killing at least two people

As a result of the shooting that occurred in the Barus & Holley building, which houses the university's engineering school, two people have died, and the condition of eight injured remains critical. The identities of the victims and deceased have not yet been established. The university has urged students and staff to stay in place, lock doors, and avoid moving around the campus. Law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are actively searching for the shooter, who has not yet been apprehended. Providence Deputy Police Chief Timothy O'Hara reported that the suspect managed to leave the building after the attack and described him as dressed in all black. At the time of the incident, exams were taking place at the university from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. The Barus & Holley building includes over 100 laboratories, dozens of classrooms, and several offices. After reports of the shooting, many people inside the building took refuge in classrooms, hiding under desks and behind furniture. Mayor Brett Smiley urged local residents to stay indoors while security operations continue. Armed law enforcement officers in tactical gear have arrived at the scene. President Donald Trump has been informed of the incident and noted on the social media platform Truth Social that FBI personnel are on-site. Brown University is home to more than 10,000 students. The investigation is ongoing.
