As a result of the collapse of the "Top Spin" ride at a fair in Faridabad, India, police inspector Jagdish Prasad tragically lost his life. Another 13 people, including women and children, sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity. This was reported by The Hindu.

The incident occurred on Saturday, February 7, around 6:00 PM. While the ride was in operation with 26 people on board, the structure unexpectedly detached from its mounts and fell to the ground, causing panic among visitors who tried to shelter from the falling parts of the mechanism.

The ride, also known as "Tsunami," simulates a giant wave, swinging passengers while simultaneously spinning them. Witnesses claim that one end of the structure broke off at a height, turning the amusement into a dangerous situation.

Police officer Jagdish Prasad, who was responsible for safety, suffered a fatal head injury when the second part of the structure collapsed on him while he was attempting to assist the injured. Medical staff at the hospital confirmed his death.

In response to the incident, the authorities of Haryana state initiated a comprehensive investigation. The police have already filed a criminal case against the owner of the ride. Officials noted that technical inspections were conducted daily; however, the reasons for the mechanism's failure are yet to be determined by experts.
