According to information provided by Euronews, the tests took place on February 3 at the Annoyya testing ground in Norway. The developer, Hypersonica, claims that all systems operated correctly during the rocket's ascent and descent through the atmosphere. Preliminary estimates suggest that the rocket may be ready for serial production by 2029.

Hypersonica is a British-German company founded in 2023, co-founded by Philipp Kert and Mark Eventz. They characterized the test as an important step towards creating "the first sovereign hypersonic strike capability in Europe."

The data collected during the flight will be used for further development of high-speed strike systems and analysis of potential adversaries' characteristics. Future plans include a phased testing approach, including hypersonic flights, control maneuvers, and complex maneuvers.

Hypersonica noted that the project aligns with NATO's strategic goals and the UK's program for developing hypersonic technologies by 2030, and it will also help reduce costs compared to traditional developments.

Against the backdrop of increasing European dependence on American weaponry, countries in the region are ramping up investments in their defense projects. The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) reports that from 2020 to 2024, arms imports from the U.S. to Europe, including Ukraine, have increased more than threefold compared to the previous five-year period.
