At an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to the protests in Iran, US Special Representative to the UN Mike Waltz stated that President Trump is ready for active measures. He emphasized that Trump is a man of action who does not intend to limit himself to mere words, as is often the case at the UN. "All options are on the table to stop the violence. And the Iranian authorities need to understand this," Waltz said, as reported by Euronews.

Meanwhile, Trump noted that the situation in Iran may begin to de-escalate, and in his opinion, the killings in the country are finally starting to cease. By Thursday, protest activity had indeed become less noticeable, although communication issues persist.

Iran's Deputy Representative to the UN Golamhossein Dehghani accused the US during the meeting of direct interference and incitement to violence in Iran. "Hiding behind a concern for human rights, the US is trying to present itself as a defender of the Iranian people, while in reality creating conditions for political instability and possible military intervention," he stated.

According to eyewitness reports from Tehran, in recent days there have been no traces of bonfires or debris on the streets, and the sounds of gunfire that had previously echoed at night have ceased.

According to the human rights organization Human Rights Activists, at least 2,677 people have died as a result of the repression during the protests. Euronews also indicates that this number is the highest among all major anti-government protests since 1979. Some sources in Iran claim that the actual number of victims may reach 15,000 over the past three weeks.
