During a conversation with journalists at Andrews Air Force Base, Trump said: “I know what actions will be taken. However, a precise decision has not yet been made. I cannot disclose that to you.”
He also urged the Iranian leadership to show humanity towards the protesters, noting: “They have serious problems. I hope they do not resort to violence... It seems to me that their behavior leaves much to be desired, although this is not confirmed,” the president added.
Over the weekend, Trump’s special envoy Steve Whitcoff met with the heir to the Iranian Shah dynasty, Prince Reza Pahlavi, to discuss the current situation with the protests in Iran. This was reported by Axios, citing a senior American official.
On the other hand, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the country's authorities are controlling the situation with the protests. According to him, Tehran has sufficient evidence of the involvement of the U.S. and Israel in the recent terrorist acts in Iran.
