On Friday, February 27, Trump made this statement during a press interaction before departing for Texas, as reported by The Independent.

The U.S. President emphasized his interest in reaching an agreement with Iran regarding its nuclear program.

When asked about the possibility of using military force against Iran, he replied that he does not desire such a scenario, but "sometimes it is necessary" to resort to such measures.

Recently, negotiations between the U.S. and Iran on the nuclear issue took place in Geneva. These meetings, which were the third round, were held with the mediation of Oman after dialogue was resumed at the beginning of the month.

At the same time, Iran temporarily suspended movement in the Strait of Hormuz, which is a key route for global oil trade, to conduct military exercises.

Trump had previously set a deadline of 10-15 days to reach an agreement on the nuclear program, warning that otherwise "bad things will happen." To pressure Tehran, the U.S. has increased its military presence in the region, including aircraft and ships.

Washington demands that Iran completely cease uranium enrichment, as well as address issues related to its ballistic missile program and support for regional groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis in Yemen. In turn, Tehran believes that negotiations should focus solely on the nuclear program.
