In the capital's Nalaikh district, the construction of a modern veterinary complex for the examination, quarantine, and disinfection of animals has been completed. According to MiddleAsianNews, the facility is already ready for operation.
The main task of the new complex is to prevent the spread of infectious diseases transmitted between humans and animals, as well as to strengthen protective measures for public health and food safety in the capital.
Ulaanbaatar continues to develop, maintaining active economic ties with rural regions, which leads to frequent movements of livestock and animal products into the city. Authorities emphasized that without proper control and sanitary processing, such movements could increase the risk of spreading infectious diseases. The new complex will serve as an important point for ensuring biosecurity at the main entrances to the capital.
The single-story building of the complex occupies 480.31 square meters, with dimensions of 18.8 by 24 meters. It is built without a basement and meets modern standards of veterinary control, hygiene, and functionality, allowing for the optimization of examination procedures while adhering to strict sanitary norms.
The complex includes a checkpoint for inspections, a storage room, a well, pens for livestock, and a covered area for keeping animals. It is also equipped with a water supply system, specialized disinfection sewage, reliable power sources, and a well-maintained territory, ensuring safe and efficient operation. All these elements create a comprehensive system for quarantine checks, disinfection of transport, and livestock management when necessary.
The construction was carried out by Sutai Mandakh LLC, and the technical supervision was conducted by the Investment Department of the capital, which monitored compliance with safety regulations and standards.
City authorities noted that the opening of this complex is a significant step towards strengthening the biosecurity system in Ulaanbaatar. It is expected to improve capabilities for early detection and control of diseases, protect livestock health, and enhance the overall well-being of the city's residents.
