Agasi Arutyunyan appointed FAO representative in Tajikistan

In his new role, Arutyunyan will be responsible for strategic planning and the implementation of FAO initiatives in the country. He intends to establish cooperation with local and international partners to support the sustainable development of agri-food systems, improve rural income sources, and enhance food security and nutrition quality in Tajikistan.

Agasi Arutyunyan is a citizen of Armenia with over 15 years of experience in key positions at FAO. His educational background includes a PhD in international relations, as well as a master's and bachelor's degree from Yerevan State University. Additionally, he holds a postgraduate certificate in management from St. Antony's College, University of Oxford, and a master's degree in humanities in international relations and European studies from Central European University.

In his new position, he replaces Oleg Guchgeldiev.
