The incident occurred on March 12 at the Karabatan range, which belongs to military unit No. 41/433, part of the structure of the Western Regional Command of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
During combat training, the soldier received a gunshot wound and was urgently transported to a regional hospital, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.
Preliminary data suggests that the tragedy may have been caused by careless handling of firearms.
In connection with the incident, the military investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan has opened a criminal case. An investigation is underway to establish all the details of what happened.
The Ministry of Defense of the country expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased serviceman.
“The command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan sincerely expresses its condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. They will be provided with the necessary assistance and support in accordance with current legislation,” the department reported.
By order of the Minister of Defense, a special commission led by the Deputy Minister has been dispatched to the scene. The investigation is also under the control of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office.
