Putin noted: “First of all, I want to express my sincere condolences to you and the family of the boy from Tajikistan who tragically died a few days ago. Committing acts of terrorism against children is an especially heinous crime. I am confident that the investigation will be carried out to the end, and those responsible, if there are several, will be punished to the fullest extent. This crime shocked me.”
The President of Russia also added that crimes of this nature are beyond comprehension and are particularly difficult to accept when the victims are children.
“I ask you to convey my most sincere words of condolence to the family of the deceased,” concluded Putin.
In response, Emomali Rahmon thanked Putin for his promise to conduct a thorough investigation into the murder of the Tajik boy in Odintsovo.
“Undoubtedly, this was unexpected. Our world has enough such criminals; we live in difficult times. Dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, we are currently working to ensure that our law enforcement agencies conduct a thorough investigation. Those responsible must be punished, and I hope this will be under your control,” said Rahmon.
The incident occurred on December 16, when a ninth-grader came to school with a knife, injured a security guard, and killed a fourth-grade student. After that, he barricaded himself in one of the classrooms, but special forces convinced him to surrender without the use of force. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan stated that the attack was related to national hatred. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia also expressed condolences regarding the tragic death of the child.
