Mufti of Tajikistan Saidmukarram Abdulqodirzoda attended the farewell ceremony and conducted a funeral prayer.
On the morning of December 18, Kobiljon's body was delivered to Tajikistan, where it was transported to the village of Ajam for burial under security measures.
Many law enforcement officers were present at the funeral in Ajam, preventing journalists from openly filming and photographing the process.
Many residents of the jamoat gathered to say goodbye to Kobiljon.
Relatives did not communicate with media representatives; however, the boy's mother, Nilufar Aliyeva, tearfully spoke a few words:
“I was going to send him to Dushanbe. He said he wanted to say goodbye to his classmates. Such was his fate, it was decreed. The criminal will be punished,” she said.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan called on his Russian counterpart to conduct a thorough investigation into the murder of the 10-year-old Tajik boy.
Nilufar Aliyeva worked as a cleaner at the Uspenskaya school in the village of Gorki-2 in Odintsovo, where her sons, Kobiljon and his younger brother, studied.
Kobiljon was killed by a 15-year-old teenager who attacked the school guard with a knife on the morning of December 16, and then attacked Kobiljon, who later died from his injuries. The attacker barricaded himself in one of the classrooms until law enforcement officers arrived and detained him.
